There are over 85,000 charities registered with CRA, and charities come in different form, shape, and sizes. Some charities employ over thousands of people, some are run by 1 or 2 volunteers. Some work internationally, or subsidiaries of international programs, some work only in one village. Some with goals to save lives of human or animals, some focuses on art and culture promotion. Some focuses on scientific research, and some focus on religious work. Some gets 100s of millions in donation, some are fully run by voluteers with no budget. They are run differently too, some are spending donation revenues on their causes, some are focusing on administration. Some charities are more effective, and some aren't. Some are bringing higher impact, some aren't. Circle Acts started with the objectives to help high-impact donors to filter out lower-impact charities and recommend those we believe are bring impact. We don't compare causes to which ones are more important vs less important. We evaluate Canadian charities that support India the same way we evaluate the charities that support local community housing. We evaluate Art focused charities the same we evaluate scientific research charities, we evaluate animal charities the same we evaluate poverty reduction charities. All items are sourced locally in a developing country where possible, with positive economic impact to the local community. Hundreds of trained volunteers travel to developing countries, paying their own way to ensure the delivery of bedkits to children in need. Eleven bedkit distributions were completed during the fiscal year to eight countries.
